Yobaba I like this

Yobaba is a 57 year old married woman from Portland, Oregon, USA.
"Everyday, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can." - Dalai Lama

I'm sorry if I offend bicyclists, but this pretty much has to be the stupidest and most UNCOMFORTABLE thing anyone can ever do.
Cheer up! Bicycling in Italy is a Daily Adventure : EcoWorldly

Bicycling in Italy. While I commend those folks who use a bicycle instead of a car, people have to understand that bicycling is not for everyone. I am an old lady who takes care of two active grandchildren. There is no way I can pile them in a cart, attach it to a bicycle and go off on a six-mile jaunt to the grocery store in the rain. It isn't going to happen. Honestly, serious bicycling falls into a very specific demographic. No one at my house fits it.
Streetsblog & NYC Gets Its First-Ever Physically-Separated Bike Path

The Department of Transportation revealed plans for New York City's first-ever physically-separated bike lane, or "cycle track", at a Manhattan Community Board 4 meeting last night. The new bike path will run southbound on Ninth Avenue from W. 23rd to W. 16th Street in Manhattan. Unlike the typical Class II on-street bike lane in which cyclists mix with motor vehicle traffic, this new design will create an exclusive path for bicycles between the sidewalk and parked cars.
Quaint. At least they are trying, I guess, although I am surprised that the taxpayers in New York City would actually 'OK' and then pay for this - it can't be inexpensive. At least the NYC city council doesn't have a doofus commissioner who tries to relocate condemned bridges from the river to the "trendy" part of town to serve as an elite - and tremendously expensive - incentive for his special-interest constituents.  dipstick.

I really like this blog! It is short and sweet ... and anything to do with Vegan Cooking is well worth the look. She has some great links and I absolutely love her avatar. Maybe she should add "cats" to her list of interests. Soy Ice Cream - you gotta try it!
