 | Yobaba is a 57 year old married woman from Portland, Oregon, USA. "Everyday, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can."

 - Descent into Chaos: How the War Against Islamic Extremism Is Being Lost...
Jun 22, 8:19pm (1 review) politics, afghanistan, pakistan http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/t...- From the page: "A group of ignorant, immensely powerful and thus dangerous men in Washington, of whom Donald Rumsfeld, the defense secretary, was probably the worst, sought to exploit America's shock after 9/11 to pursue their own global agenda, on which taking out Saddam Hussein was tops."
I saw the interview of Ahmed Rashid on Charlie Rose a few nights ago and started reading Descent into Chaos the next day. Rashid is an articulate, extremely savvy guy, and we should take heed of what he is telling us. It is time we as Americans really start understanding what has been and is truly going on 'over there'.
 - Soldiers Angels - About Us
May 5, 10:10pm (1 review) military, politics, iraq, afghanistan http://soldiersangels.org/index.php?page...- From the page: "We are a continually-evolving, grassroots organization comprised of nearly 200,000 volunteers in over twenty different teams and programs who have developed unique and effective ways to support members of the U.S. military. To date, our volunteers have sent tens of thousands of care packages and hundreds of thousands of letters to deployed service members; we have supplied the wounded with our First Response Packs directly at the Combat Support Hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan and the major military hospital in Germany, as well as provided care and comfort to those in stateside military and VA facilities; we have provided emergency aid to military families in need; we have partnered with the Department of Defense to provide voice-controlled/adaptive laptops to over 2,600 severely-wounded servicemembers; we have provided flights to soldiers on leave or in emergency situations, and to their families wanting to be with them up return from overseas; we have provided Level III KEVLAR armored blankets to give personnel extra protection in their vehicles when it was needed; we help to honor the families whose loved ones have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and safety. With the assistance of our generous supporters , the many volunteers of Soldiers' Angels have accomplished this and much, much more on behalf of the grateful citizens of the United States of America."
Whether we agree or not with the deployment of US military personnel to Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other foreign soil, these are our brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, and husbands and wives. This is a wonderful organization doing wonderful things. The website is worth a look.
