You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with the Gods, whatever you conceive them to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world....taken from Desiderata
Think about this: The life you're living right now has joys even the gods will never know.
"Sometimes when I post wise thoughts of others, I feel the reader thinks I regard myself the wise. By no means. I see the light but I do not radiate it. I stand at the starting point of the Way, reluctant and too timid to take even the first step." ~ from my dear friend, Juha

Yeah, well, Cyn's been outdoing herself lately I see! Scroll around these pages a bit if you dare. I can see that I need to get back to Hawaii somehow - and maybe bring a glass to hold all that spilled milk.

(a paraphrase) It seems that no matter the facts, the desire to believe some of the stuff [in fictitious, sometimes libelous emails] is just too strong, and there's not enough proof in the world to stop certain political propaganda. Where political rumors are concerned, most people are so locked into a particular world view that they tend to reject any information, no matter how well supported, that contradicts their cherished assumptions.
Cyber-sickness is just that - sickness and a compulsive, pathological sickness at that (I just have to look at my mid-western relatives to see this). Forwarding these emails needs to stop. All it takes is a little bit of common sense and skepticism, some curiosity and a few keystrokes. Nailing these lies can even be fun - and nailing your friends/relatives who act like the rest of the sheep and send these nefarious emails can also be satisfying.
If you don't find checking out these e-mails to be fun, or just don't have time, I suggest an easier alternative: a healthy use of the delete key.

This is so thoroughly disgusting; that any sector of our population would even consider this sort of person a viable presidential candidate shows exactly what sort of bottom feeders we have to deal with.
"When you act like an a-hole people tend to think of you as an a-hole" ... and -FLASH!- people tend to think of the people who vote for you as a-holes, too.

I wonder, do people really just accept republican BS? It's not hard to investigate the rhetoric and discover the truth.
FactCheck.org - McCain has repeatedly claimed that Obama would raise tax rates for 23 million small-business owners. It's a false and preposterously inflated figure.
We find that the overwhelming majority of those small-business owners would see no increase, because they earn too little to be affected. Obama's tax proposal would raise rates only on couples making more than $250,000 or singles earning more than $200,000.
McCain argues that Obama's proposed increase is a job-killer. He has a point. It's true that increasing taxes on those at the top would leave them less money for other purposes, including investment and hiring in the case of business owners. But the number of business owners who would see their rates go up would be only a small fraction of what McCain says. Many would see their taxes go down.
Good point.

From the page: "In disclosing the results of their poll, conducted July 10-13, ABC News and The Washington Post issued staggered releases, withholding from their first release on July 14 poll results favorable to Sen. Barack Obama, including the finding that 50 percent of registered voters would vote for Obama "[i]f the 2008 presidential election were being held today" versus 42 percent who favored Sen. John McCain."
I've noticed that ABC seems particularly reluctant to release any positive information about Obama at all ... I thought it was just my imagination, but apparently not. Does Murdock control ABC, too?

Note to Self: Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative energy that you put out into the universe will multiply when it returns to you. All persons make mistakes. And all mistakes can be forgiven. Bad thoughts cause illness of the mind, body and spirit. I cannot control other people, but at least I can try to control myself.
